1. For my first project me and Jessica collaborated on street art. we chose street art because we wanted something that the people at school could see and also because this would be our second to last year with the old school. They will be rebuilding it soon so our art would be gone by then anyways. We decided on the forest behind the art trailers because it's not someplace many people go so if you did go there it would be a surprise to see the art. We intended on confusion for the art piece, we added faces on the trees and a eerie quote as well as lots of color and random objects. There isn't any deep meaning in this street art because street art doesn't have to be meaningful. We wanted something colorful and fun in the woods where nobody goes. I think the piece was successful because I had a lot of fun working on it and I think many people who go back there will enjoy it as well. This forest art is for enjoyment and happiness, that's it.
2. I enjoyed the clay unit because I have little experience with that. I'm glad I learned from that unit and created something that I've always wanted to create (a little kodama for my plants at home) If I were to add something to the clay unit it would probably be just some more practice on the shapes you can make with the clay. I mostly know how to make little balls and knead the clay into caves but that's about it. It would be interesting to learn how to create facial features or fruit shapes or what not.
2. Another project I enjoyed was the social current issues project. I wanted to make something that would point out current issues and this unit helped me approach it in an artistic way. I have been wanting to make some art that calls out ignorance and issues in the world so this unit branched out my ideas. I like this concept so I may continue with this and maybe mix it with some abstract because those are two things I'm enjoying in art right now.
