Title:
For this project we used metaphors in our art. So my topic was the bombings in Syria, specifically in schools. I used the style of Pablo Picasso's "Guernica" and used his elements to create my metaphors. THIS IS UNFINISHED SO I WILL FINISH MY POST WHEN I AM DONE PAINTING IT ALL!! ref: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/01/syria-children-killed-russian-air-strike-school-160111133547736.html http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/30/world/meast/syria-civil-war/ http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-air-strikes-at-least-five-children-killed-in-raqqa-school-as-britain-debates-joining-bombing-a6750591.html http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/blast-syria-school-kills-18-including-10-kids-421191049 Title: I'm LAVEN DER weather this summer
For this project we took the descriptions of an unknown classmate and made it into a portrait based on what they said. I chose the flowers; Narcissus, Amaryllis, and Marigold. Using some white cardboard background I painted these flowers with watercolor and added shadow behind the flowers with a pencil shadow stick thing. I chose these flowers because they represent free-spiritedness, kindness, creativity, etc that fit with her writing. Title: Eye Carumba (HAHAA!)
I used sculptey (?) and acrylic paint for this piece. I chose this because I wanted to try something new and I've only sculpted one other thing before in the past two years. An eyeball is a pretty easy shape to make too, at first I wanted to have a lot of detail in the eye color and the veins in the eye as well as the attached optic nerve. I didn't have small enough brushes to use to put in a lot of detail so I opted for a cartoon-like eyeball. That led to my idea of making the optic nerve really big and chunky and messy. I couldn't decide on doing a light salmon color or a dark purple-red for the nerve so I used the latter. |
